For "free gear" I personally avoid most of these cheap ones.  Its better to just purchase the product and review it if you like it.  You don't want to be forced to make a video around something unless you're really into it.

Generally these types of products can be found on amazon or B&H so once you're an affiliate for these companies then you don't need an affiliate with a company directly.

Start with a vertical timeline then you crop your footage either using a Spacial Conform or you zoom in on the footage using the scale tool and then export it once you're done with the edit

Tomas Bay Usually with these cameras if they're prone to overheat it will happen when shooting higher frame rates.  4k60 or 4k120

I think it does depend on the height difference.  It won't work in every situation but is a useful took to keep in your back pocket
